A lovely vintage bag face handwoven in the mid to late 20th Century by women of the Qashqai tribe in south west Persia. Although we refer to these as bag faces, they were probably made as cushion covers by settled tribeswomen. They would compete with their friends and neighbours to see who could weave the finest examples!
Size: 0.65m x 0.60m (2ft 2in x 2ft)
This bag face is in good condition with light, age-related wear. Fringes and selvedges are secure and it has been professionally cleaned.
